National Park Rescue is dedicated to combating poaching, habitat loss and the illegal wildlife trade. Through their anti-poaching operations, community integration and hard work, they’ve made a massive impact. Crucial to conserving Africa’s resources, NPR work hard to ensure our national parks can be enjoyed by all for generations.

In late 2023, we partnered with National Park Rescue and equipped their patrol vehicle with an Icarus Roof Conversion, Shadow Awning, Shower Cube and Spare Wheel Bag. Now, their Land Rover Defender 110 is able to set up camp just about anywhere. Quickly, comfortably and stealthily.

National Park Rescue has been operational for years. Between anti-poaching, conservation, reconnecting communities and halting irreversible damage, they’re doing what they can to stop poaching and conserve African national parks.

In the Chizarira National Park alone, their efforts – in partnership with ZimParks Zimbabwe – were able to bring poaching down by 98%. Elephant poaching went down 90%, park arrests increased 300% and the lion population grew by 40%. This feat is nothing short of amazing and we are proud to support their important work.

Field Director Mark Hiley calls the Icarus Roof Conversion “absolutely incredible” and appreciates the ability to “deploy in the field very quickly”. He says the ability to pack-up their campsite in minutes is not just a luxury, but crucial to acting as effectively as possible.

“We need to pack up rapidly once potentially-armed poaching gangs have been detected,” says Mark. “Those valuable minutes, gained by the speed of Alu-Cab equipment, can be the difference between making an arrest or not”.

Additionally, Mark admires the products toughness and ability to withstand even tougher conditions. And it doesn’t get tougher than putting your life on the line, fighting the war on poaching.

National Park Rescue – Frontline support for threatened wildlife

Anti-Poaching

Over the years, a steadfast partnership with Alu-Cab has proven time and again that the company’s heart is committed to rhino protection and conservation. We are incredibly grateful to all at Alu-Cab for their incredible support, and for their latest donation of R50 000.00. We will be utilizing this funding to purchase camera traps, to be deployed within the National Parks.
